The Selo de Mar restaurant is located in the city of Setúbal, opposite the River Sado, a place of fishing and tradition. The bay of Setúbal is part of the Sado estuary, which is within the limits of the National Ecological Reserve. These waters are home to the natural habitat of the bottlenose dolphin, one of the rarest dolphin communities in Europe.

With its roots in fishing and the Portuguese canning industry, this is a region of immense beauty. To the east lie the breathtaking hills of the Serra da Arrábida and the idyllic beaches of Portinho da Arrábida, while to the south of the Sado estuary lie the Roman complex of Tróia and the paradisiacal beaches of the Tróia Peninsula and Comporta.
