The exhibition Crónicas de uma Lisboa desconhecida (Chronicles of an unknown Lisbon) features almost a hundred works held in reserve by the Museum of Lisbon, offering a journey through Lisbon's lesser-known spaces, times and inhabitants.
Museum of Lisbon - Pimenta Palace
25 JUN'25 >>> 22 MAR'26
Pieces of exceptional quality, for various reasons these works have been kept away from the public eye, some never before shown and others have been restored to be exhibited and thus reveal a less obvious Lisbon.
The route starts in Terreiro do Paço, where we remember the aeronautical feat performed by an Italian captain in 1794, and ends nearby, in Campo das Cebolas, in the company of Amália Rodrigues.
Among other places and episodes, it passes through the capital's first illegal neighbourhood and the first Feira Popular funfair, revealing both a bomber who stirred up the already troubled early years of the Republic, and a poet and human rights activist who in the 19th century fought for the end of slavery and the emancipation of women.
Unique stories on a journey through other universes of Lisbon.
