The Lisboa Backyard Ultra returns on September 27, 2025, for its 4th edition, with the start at 08:00 at the Monsanto Forest Park in Lisboa. The event is part of the international circuit as a Silver Ticket, granting the winner access to the Individual Backyard Ultra World Championship.

This ultramarathon format challenges athletes to run 6.7 km in under one hour, successively, until only one runner remains able to complete another loop. Lisbon features one of the most demanding courses on the circuit, on the trails of Monsanto.

With registrations sold out since March, the race will bring together 70 participants, and the organizers believe it could exceed 30 hours of competition. In 2024, Sérgio Catarino won by completing 26 laps (174 km) in 26 hours.
It will be possible to watch the loop’s starts in the finish area, at the Monsanto Interpretation Center, and follow the results at www.lisboabackyardultra.com.
Part of the proceeds will go towards the social mission of the Associação Surf Social Wave.
