In its first edition, from September 18th to October 2nd, CRIVO – Women Composers Festival celebrates the music of more than 30 female composers, from the Middle Ages to the present.
Curated by musicologist Inês Thomas Almeida, CRIVO program includes four concerts with commentary, the national premiere of the film "Fanny: The Other Mendelssohn" (2023), by Sheila Hayman, the conference "Women Composers. Processes of Exclusion and Resistance," by Rui Vieira Nery, and a Teaching Forum, a conversation about the inclusion of women composers in the music education curriculum.
CRIVO – Women Composers Festival plays unique works created over the centuries by women from countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, Germany and the United States of America, among many others.
