On Saturday, 20 June, from 2.00 pm to 11.30 pm, the Goethe-Institut in Lisbon opens its doors to the first German Festival, a celebration that swaps sardines for sausages and brings together cinema, music, food and tradition in a relaxed atmosphere.
The programme begins with film and literature, whilst the garden comes alive with traditional German games and conversations in Portuguese and German. In the late afternoon, the terrace comes alive with a concert by the Metropolitana Big Band, followed by a DJ set featuring German music hits.
The evening culminates with the excitement of the World Cup and the broadcast of the Germany vs. Ivory Coast match, ensuring a vibrant finale to a full day of celebrations.
