Will Oldham, better known as Bonnie “Prince” Billy, returns to Lisbon – to the same venue where he played a memorable concert in 2014 – to inaugurate the third edition of Vale Perdido.

Three decades after his first editions, he continues to surprise as one of the great singers of our time. With a career marked by folk, country and a punk ethic, his songs have been interpreted by the likes of Johnny Cash and Rosalía.

The new album, The Purple Bird, reinforces his lyrical universe – enigmatic, raw and deeply human – and features production by Dave “Ferg” Ferguson and Nashville musicians.

On stage, he performs in a duo with multi-instrumentalist Thomas Deakin, in an intimate show where the poetry and mysticism of his work promise to thrill and reveal new layers of an artist who never repeats himself.
