The event, organised by the Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP), is part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) and is the only one held in Europe, which clearly shows Portugal's importance in the world of off-road racing. 

The race, which starts in Grândola on 23 September and will have its final stage in Lisbon, on 28 September, next to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument.

The race will cover a course of more than 1000 kilometers of technical roads, mostly wide, and with varied types of terrain through the Alentejo, Ribatejo and Spanish Extremadura Provinces.

Lisbon will once again host the excitement of a world ranking race, having already been the stage for the Dakar Rally in 2006 and 2007.
