Details

Located at the Forte do Bom Sucesso (which was built in the 18th century in order to defend the port of Lisbon) the Museum of the Combatant houses one of the museological centres of the League of Combatants.

It is divided in three sections that focus on the Portuguese military interventions of the 20th century: World War I, the ‘Ultramar’ campaigns and Missions of Peace.

A memorial was built at the entrance to the building, which serves as an integral part of the museum and evokes the combatants who died defending the Old Portuguese Ultramar.
