Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal, incorporated in a metropolitan region with 2.98 million people.

From its 571,000 residents, the number of people using the city’s transport system rises by around 70% every day, due to commuting between home and work and home and school.

The region concentrates a large number of companies, close to 482,000, with a high level of technology and research.

This is where over 40% of the country’s total expenditure on R&D is focused.

This city with an ancestral history receives over 7 million visitors every year, with over half coming from markets abroad, in particular United States, Brazil, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy.
