Marking the centenary of the birth of Master Querubim Lapa (1925-2016), one of Portugal's most important ceramists, the National Tile Museum is presenting the temporary exhibition "UMA COZINHA NO MUSEU | No centenário de Querubim Lapa.
This is a reconstruction of the kitchen that Querubim Lapa designed, at 1988/1989, for a flat in Rua dos Correeiros, in Lisbon, and which was acquired for the National Tile Museum in 2023.
In addition to the kitchen with its original tile covering, the exhibition includes the studies and preparatory drawings made by the Master, as well as as a scale model of the space, and an interview in video format with the artist's wife, ceramist Suzana Barros Lapa and his son, Art Historian Pedro Lapa.
