In this exhibition, the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum presents the interaction created between Júlio Pomar and Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro.
To mark the centenary of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro’s death, in 2025, Ana Maria Viegas from Galeria Ratton, in 2005, invited Júlio Pomar to visit the Bordalo Pinheiro Factory to create a set of unique ceramic pieces based on the artist’s original moulds of the artist.
The chosen pieces, which are still part of the factory’s catalogue and are now on display, depict animals and plants in a naturalistic manner: cats, bulls, chickens, pigs, crabs, fish and cabbage leaves.
