Considered one of the oldest sporting competitions in the municipality, the Aiolas Regatta was organised between fishermen to test their strength and skill, and was one of the most cherished events in the community.

So much that, in 1941, it was included for the first time, along with the sailing and rudders regattas, in the Sesimbra Fishermen's Festival.

With the end of this festival, which took place for a few years, the Aiolas Regatta lost its importance and the tradition faded away, until 40 years ago, the Town Hall decided to resume it successfully and, since then, it has become one of Sesimbra's great attractions at the end of the summer.

Starts at Praia da Califórnia, on the east side, and finishes at Praia do Ouro, in front of the Clube Naval de Sesimbra headquarters.
