In 1985, the event was responsible for putting Brazil on the international concert route. Breaking attendance records at every edition and generating positive impacts in the countries where it is held, it has established itself as the largest music and entertainment festival in the world. Aware of the disseminating power of the brand, today Rock in Rio strives to be an event with the purpose of building a better world for happier, more confident and empathetic people on a healthier planet.

The internationalisation of the brand began in Portugal, Lisboa, in 2004, where the event is still held today, followed by Spain (Madrid) and the United States (Las Vegas).

At Rock in Rio, the numbers keep growing. Millions of visitors have passed through the Cities of Rock and the festival has conquered the world and became a veritable playground of experiences, but far beyond that, it has grown and expanded its operations, always looking to the future.

By adopting and encouraging practices that support the collective, Rock in Rio strives to build a better world and joins forces with companies that have the same vision and guidelines. In 2013, it was recognised for its achievement by receiving the ISO 20121 - Sustainable Events certification. Since its first edition, it has generated millions of direct and indirect jobs and invested, together with its partners, in different projects, covering topics such as sustainability, education, music, forests, among others.
